Specialised Substitute Residential Care (SSRC) refers to a structured arrangement where children with disabilities or behavioural challenges stay in a setting away from home for three or more nights in a seven-day period. These placements are carefully planned between families and service providers such as WCSS, and may include:

Short-stay hotels or apartments
Host family environments

SSRC may be funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and can focus on respite, behavioural support, or developmental care.

▶ Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Funded by the NDIS, STA provides children with a supportive, structured living environment for a short duration. It gives families a chance to recharge, knowing their child is in expert hands.
